  7. Phoenix (used, 2008) Europa II two-point mandolin

Phoenix (used, 2008) Europa II two-point mandolin

    Tag No 39-1740 Used
#434, finished in a uniform dark tobacco sunburst, made by Rolfe Gerhardt South Thomaston, ME, in excellent plus condition with original thermoplastic silver molded hard shell case.

This exceptional and effortlessly easy-to-play mandolin, made by Rolfe Gerhardt South Thomaston, ME, is similar in appearance to his Phoenix NeoClassical in that it has neither top nor back binding and utilizes (to extremely good effect) Thomastic Enfield flatwound strings which are made in Vienna, Austria.  It has the two-part adjustable bridge in which the bridge base is made from “Timeless Timbre” or “Old Wood” or maybe “Sinker Maple” – wood that was submerged in an extremely deep river under tremendous pressure for over a hundred years, or so says the legend.

Our Discount Price is $3,969.00 and Our Cash Discount Price is $3,850.00.

    Tag No 39-1733 New
#1548647, style # 533E Geib plush lined hard shell case.

This model really is special. It is a Martin OM with many characteristics of the prewar. Firstly, it is a 000-14 fret Orchestra Model, long scale, beautiful beyond words and housed in a fancy 533E Geib style hard shell case. We are exceptionally fond of this model, made as it is with a solid Sitka spruce top that is burnished with aging toner to a lovely deep shade, similar to what an original (say) 1930 Martin OM-28 guitar might look like today.  The C F Martin List Price is $3,799

  19. Collings (new) OM1 with a 1 3/4" Nut Width

    Collings (new) OM1 with a 1 3/4" Nut Width

    Tag No 39-1711 New
    #39-1711, with hard shell case.

'OM' stands for "Orchestra Model," but 80 years after this body shape was first designed it has become the most popular 14-fret model with fingerstyle guitar soloists who choose to play on steel strings. Yet flatpickers also find it appealing, and when the graceful cutaway is added these OMs are often used by lead players who routinely explore all 20 frets much as they would on an electric guitar. The compact shape makes the Collings OM equally easy to handle onstage or when sitting on the couch, and the relatively shallow body (barely over 4 inches deep) results in balanced tone and an immediate response.

Our Discount Price is $3,503.00 and Our Cash Discount Price is $3,397.00.
