Gibson (used, 2003) RB-250 Mastertone resonator 5-string banjo

    Tag No 39-2985 Used
#250-03-260, in very good condition with a newer hard shell case.

The Gibson RB-250 is the most standard and also one of the most common models of five-string Mastertone.   It was introduced in 1954 and in that original version it had "bowtie" fingerboard inlays.  In 1970 Gibson revised the model to have something called a "varied pattern" mother of pearl inlay sequence on the fingerboard - but for the most part, since the last inlay depicts a flying bird, we and many other people who are not yet institutionalized call it "Flying Birdie."

Our Discount Price is $2,159.00 and Our Cash Discount Price is $2,095.00.

  6. Scott Vestal (used, 2004) Stealth 5-String Banjo

Scott Vestal (used, 2004) Stealth 5-String Banjo

    Tag No 39-2322 Used
    #101904-120, with zipper carrying case.

There is so much we do not know about the Vestal Stealth, since it flies under the radar, but we can tell you that it is bestowed with a new and original neck design   that does not have a large and flared out headstock, instead it more resembles a bizarre and hideous rectal probe carried by the itinerant scouts who hail from the planet Zorg.    For example it has a tunnel under the fingerboard that begins on the softly (rounded) pointed 7 ¼” long by 1 3/16th” wide headstock, and the string that enters that tunnel emerges just before the fifth fret and so it doesn’t require either its own nut or for the fretboard to have the wider extension at the fifth string.

Our Discount Price is $3,087.00 and Our Cash Discount Price is $2,995.00.

    Tag No 39-2278 New
#6852, red stained curly maple, nickel plating, with the Tony Pass Old Wood rim, with plush lined hard shell case.

One of Stelling’s more recently introduced models, inspired by master banjoist Bill Emerson, the Red Fox has outsold every other model since its introduction in 1996. Although new models tend to do that, Stelling thinks that this model will join the Staghorn in the banjo hit parade because of its universal appeal and acceptance as a classic banjo design. The fancy curly maple used in this model is enhanced by its reddish stain. The many-colored Red Fox in the peghead and the abalone maple leaves in the fingerboard help to make this striking and seductive.
