AER means Audio Electric Research, a brand that is extremely highly regarded. This model, which comes with its own amplifier cover, has been described as producing 60 watts of unadulterated RMS wattage through an eight inch (200mm) double cone speaker. It has two channels, the first of which is for guitar (phono jack), having a push button for “low” or “high,” (we prefer to be high), a gain control (so you can gain control), and then three rotaries for bass, midrange and treble, each with a center detent which, in the land we come from, means “active electronics

The onboard DSP effects and XLR output add extra versatility to an already-great formula. An example of the earliest version of this style amplifier, this Tolex covering is called “rough blonde” since it has a pebble finish and the color is, well, blonde, while the grille cloth is an oxblood color. The overall condition is excellent, though it shows some stains and minor discoloration it remains quite original and displaying less wear than one usually sees.

This model was introduced into the Fender line in the middle of 1946 and then called a “Dual Professional.” The name was changed to “Super” early in 1947. The amplifier is described as having a “wide panel” cabinet with a tweed covering; the controls were at the top wherein one finds 3 pointer knobs. It is rated at twenty watts but produces a tremendous amount of sound and volume. In 1954 the control plate changed to four knobs on a narrow panel.
