#4396, rosewood back and sides with a Sitka spruce top, having the soft Breedlove cutaway, in excellent original condition with a somewhat worn but original hard shell case.
This guitar shows a few dings here and there, an inexplicable series of dots under the finish at the center bottom of the back, perhaps from contact with a strap or some other device; some nicks and indents (bite marks?) on the headplate. It has a tasteful, slim abalone rosette bordered in black on each side, black celluloid body binding and fingerboard binding as well, a glossy black headstock overlay bearing the “flying B” that stands for Breedlove (or possibly for Bob, the introverted, less known superhero who never takes off his long-sleeved white shirt so you never get to see his colorful outfit with the “flying B” on the front, but he and his children know he’s wearing it and that’s what counts). This guitar features chrome-plated Grover Rotomatic Mini tuners. In addition to its sound and its beauty, its easy playability and its lovely, burnished blonde aging Sitka top, this guitar has the addition of 7 abalone eagles’ wings inlaid into its ebony fretboard. Each pair of wings has a single abalone dot at the center like a rare and endangered headless Eagle Cyclops just like the kind that you see flying around over Silver Lake Park, just up the street from the Beloved Mandofarm here at Staten Island. They have no beaks or claws, so they swoop down over the reservoir and scare the fish but never get to experience the Omega 3 rush they would have gotten from eating one. Instead they fly back to their aviary at the William T. Davis Sanctuary where they are fed intravenously by dedicated volunteers. This guitar will enliven your playing and expand your repertoire. A Breedlove is “something different” that stands apart from the crowd.
