The grand auditorium sized cut-away provides fuller bass response than our slimmer X Model, while providing easy access to upper frets with its no-heel neck joint. The GX is braced with our performance tuned lightweight carbon fiber bracing for an extremely well-balanced volume on every note. The GX provides a very quick and clean response - excellent for chord strumming and flat picking. The comfortable double-cut sculpted back will make you think this guitar was made just for you, and it was! This is an exceedingly comfortable-to-play instrument having a nut width of 1 3/4" and a bridge string spacing of 2 1/4". The scale length is long at 25 3/4".

We are impressed by the sound, which is superb ("I can't believe it's not rosewood and spruce!" as the advertising slogan goes). It has a strong, complex acoustic sound with plenty of volume and presence. The headplate and top are made in such that the grain of the graphite fabric shows through in a three-dimensional fantasy, almost an Escher-like continuum. The "CA" logo on the headstock stands out against this other worldly pattern of time and space and jumps out at the viewer like Cato, Jacques Clouseau's manservant in the classic Peter Sellers' movies. The fingerboard is jet black and inlaid with 8 mother of pearl dotmarkers in 7 positions. The soundhole rosette again evokes Escher and is a repeating superstructure of mother of pearl that seems like steel tubing. Bridge pins are black, as is the saddle and the nut and the back and the sides and the black chrome tuners. It's very New York City. Most importantly, it is not affected by exposure to the elements, does not need to be humidified and sounds simply marvelous.
