Deering (new) Boston "B-6" Six-String Guitar/Banjo

Tag No 39-1525 New

#P826, with hard shell case.

Paraphrased from the Deering Company web site, it is said among  travelers in the cosmos that the B-6 Boston six-string makes an ideal recording instrument; just ask Keith Urban of his eponymous band. It’s lighter in weight due to the innovative steel rim construction that you can also find in the ever-popular Boston five-string banjo. In the B-6 this creates excellent note distinction, clarity, and sparkling crispness. The B-6 is made of tropical American mahogany helping to give it its sweet, round and full tone. It has an arched hard, dense, colorful, exotic and naturally beautiful ebony fingerboard; it also features Deering’s own custom six string tailpiece and bridge. These components help create a superb playing experience for even the most smug and self-confident guitar player. One of the most appealing aspects of the B-6 is its sleek neck making it comfortable and easy to play. In examining some of the older 6-string banjos of the distant past Greg Deering observed what he considered a notable lack of tone. After much research he resolved to produce only 6-string banjos that are capable of having great sustain and beautiful tone.

Many guitar players are now discovering the new sound available from playing a Deering 6-string banjo. It can be flat picked or finger picked with equally alacrity. You may string it with extra light acoustic guitar strings though it does perform just fine with other string gauges. Anything you play on a guitar can be played on the 6-string banjo; don’t let anybody tell you different. Brandy new ones of these carry a list price of $2145 but fear not, aspiring little guitar-banjoist, since this sparkling and remarkling arrival can be part of your permanent estate for a good deal less. We should point out that this has the standard 11" diameter head, the 3/16” thick steel rim (also known as the body), a mahogany resonator, nickel-plated hardware, a satin finished mahogany neck, and its fingerboard covers a greatly admired adjustable truss rod.    Please email or phone for your favored monetary requirement.
