Bart Reiter (used, 1992) Long Neck Tubaphone open back five-string banjo

    Tag No 32-4015 Used
#790, in excellent minus condition with original hard shell case.

Long neck open back banjos that have the Vega Tubaphone style bell bronze tone ring (with all the holes drilled through it in the tradition of the original ring) are few and far between.   The Pete Seeger model, long discontinued, has become quite rare, desirable and valuable.   Although this example may show some signs of use and playing wear, it is structurally in excellent or better condition.

Our Discount Price is $2,056.00 and Our Cash Discount Price is $1,995.00.

    Gibson (used, 1977) RB-800 5-String Resonator Banjo

    Tag No 32-4011 Used
#06188971, fancy, gold plated, in excellent minus condition with the original or perhaps a period hard shell case.

This was, between 1964 and 1986,  the standard Gibson gold-plated (with engraving on the armrest, stretcher band base of each tuner gear, and tone ring) that was based loosely on the old Granada model, but there was a long hiatus during which no Granada was made, mainly between 1937 and the year it was finally reissued in 1986.  Consequently, Gibson made the RB-800 as their fancy offering.  Cherry sunburst, as has this, became the standard finish in 1978.    It has the two-piece (tube and plate) flange.

Our Discount Price is $3,454.00 and Our Cash Discount Price is $3,350.00.

#935, one of a number of guitars whose total production was made between 2007 and 2012. Condition is excellent.

Based on the template of the "E" line designed by Jose III, Amalia Ramirez has created the Ramirez 125 Anos Spruce as a semi-special model. It was built for five years (2007-2012), and commemorates the 125th anniversary of the Ramirez guitar making dynasty. The "Rose" mosaic rosette is based off of Jose Ramirez III's rose design dating back to the 1960's.   They say that this  rosette represents all the designs that had been forgotten over the 125 years of the Jose Ramirez legacy.

#97-159, in excellent plus condition with original hard shell case.

We present a hand-selected East Indian rosewood back and sides, straight-grained Sitka top with a considerable amount of cross-silking, labeled “Prototype” on its internal paper label, with the original hard shell case.  What went on to become one of the most successful new designs in an hand-made American fretted instrument, having a soft, venetian cutaway that slopes downward from a rosewood “ledge” on the treble side cutaway, had to start somewhere – and this is the beginning – the earliest, archetypal example.

#12383034, in near mint condition with original hard shell case.

One of the most tasteful and yet unusual variations on the Gibson J-200, this is configured in unexpected and delightful ways.  It is a fanciful replication of a prewar model that was never made – the best of old combined with new ideas - in that it has a prewar style script Gibson abalone headstock logo in (no doubt) Paua shell, reflecting a rainbow of color, and an equally colorful abalone Gibson crown of flower inlaid thereunder.

A site called <pensionstringworks” says:   The Lore and Legend of the Gibson Mastertone Banjo ... universe, the "holy grail" of banjos is the Gibson Granada circa 1934 that Scruggs played for years.   [Until recently,] Gibson continued to manufacture great banjos in their Mastertone line, many of them copies, or re-issues of some of those glorious banjos from the 20s and 30s. Perhaps the centerpiece of the bluegrass banjo universe, the "holy grail" of banjos is the Gibson Granada circa 1934 that Scruggs played for years. Almost all of his classic recordings were made on this banjo.
