Larrivee (used, 2014) LJ-05-12 Wildwood Custom 12-String

Tag No 32-4220 Used

#116062, in “excellent plus” condition, with the original hard shell case.

This guitar is extremely handsome.   It has an Italian Alpine Spruce top with quilted mahogany back and sides with a mahogany neck. It has a glossy finish headplate overlay with the folksy “Larrivee” underlined headstock logo.   It has 14 frets to the body joint and 20 frets total.  The neck is bordered on three sides in ivoroid; the fingerboard is jet black with tiny 7 dots in 6 positions.   The soundhole is thrice bordered in purfling and the center ring is fancy abalone.  The bridge is carved of ebony with compensated ‘B” strings.   It has a standard size Dalmatian style prewar design teardrop pickguard.   The body of the guitar has a herringbone / mahogany binding on the top and mahogany binding on the back and ivoroid binding around the fingerboard.  Installed is a LR Baggs Anthem pickup with soundhole control.

THE WOODS OF LARRIVEE GUITARS – Per the maker, the quest for perfect tone anduncompromising physical beauty in a Larrivée guitar always comes back to the wood. Sourcing the highest quality materials available and constantly striving to extract maximum value out of every single board foot is a mandate we take very seriously.  To find the best wood for a guitar, we travel the globe – hiking mud-drenched trails to select Koa from Hawaiian mountainsides, striding the log booms of the Pacific Northwest to find premium spruce, or selecting mahogany and rosewood from South America, India or Africa.  The search is painstaking, and sometimes we come up empty-handed. Only one in a hundred spruce logs yields suitable tone wood for producing guitars and only one in a hundred of those is accepted by Larrivée. We don’t make a “big deal” about the fact that we often harvest logs that are naturally fallen; that’s just the way we’ve always done it, that’s the respect we have for the resource.

Behold, a fine guitar for a player seeking excellent tone, considerable volume, fine looks, in virtually brand new condition with the original hard shell case.
