Martin (used circa 1960s) Style O Ukulele

Tag No 32-4259 Used

#ISI2174, with the original chipboard case.

There is almost no other musical instrument as elegant in its simplicity as a Martin Style O Ukulele.   Small it is, yes, being 21” in total length (all measurements approximate), 9” in body length, 6 5/8” in width at the lower bout, 5” width at upper bout, with a scale length of around 13 ¾” and a nut width of just under 1 7/16th”. But man, does it sound incredibly good!  It has 12 frets total and also 12 frets to the body joint; the rosewood fingerboard terminates in a bird’s beak, echoed though inverted by the center point at the top of the headstock. The carved bridge is Brazilian rosewood and bears what appears to be an ebony saddle and the nut she is ebony as well.  This ukulele shows some small dings and light scratches on the body, but is in overall "excellent" condition.

Its tuners are the original simple un-geared machines with a screw at the terminus of each button. The top, back, sides, back of neck and headstock are all genuine mahogany, and it displays the “CF Martin & Co., Est. 1833” headstock logo in gold script circumscribed by black.  The Brazilian unbound fingerboard is inlaid with three small ivoroid dots at frets 5, 7 and 10 and there are no side dots on the bass edge of the ‘board.  The ukulele is tuned to standard tuning – E D F# B and hearing it will make your Ukulele Lady like-a you.
