    The Triolian 14-Fret captures the look and feel of the late 1930's W-Series Triolians.  The thin-gauge steel body is highlighted by a formed back and traditional ribbed sieve-hole coverplate.  Each body is hand painted in walnut-burst.  The maple neck clears 14 frets to the body and features an ivoroid-bound rosewood fretboard complete with inlaid mother-of-pearl position markers. Tuners are vintage-style engraved, open gear.  The National Retail Price is $2600

    According to Bob Brozman, our go-to guy on National guitars, the Style 1 was one of the first models the new National Company of Los Angeles produced.   According to his "time line" this model initiated in 1927, but he says "There were only slight changes made in this model from 1928 to 1941.  Most Style 1 models were made before the mid-1930s.  . . .
