Taylor (used, 1997) Model 712 Acoustic Guitar

Tag No 32-4230 Used

#970509121, in "very good" condition, with the original Taylor brand molded hard shell case.

It has the black ebony unbound fingerboard with the 8 dot inlays, it has the naturally darkly oranged. “evolved,” Tusq nut, 1-3/4” nut width and a compensated bridge saddle.   This guitar’s face sports a small abalone ring around the soundhole with other concentric rings on either side, a tortoise color ‘guard, 5-ply top binding on the body; it has the Taylor inlaid logo with the 6 nickel Grover tuners on the East Indian rosewood headplate; and a rosewood truss rod cover held by 2 screws.  The Sitka spruce top appears to be select quality, chosen for having a great deal of cross-silking (medullary rays) with East Indian Rosewood back and sides.  The guitar shows just the slightest signs of playing time including a small ding on upper bout of the top, capo marks on the tip of the headstock, light fret wear, strap pin in heel, pickup ready and  some light belt buckle on the back.

This guitar once had a LR Baggs soundhole pickup which has now been removed.  If one were looking to install a similar pickup, this guitar is “pickup ready” as the end pin has been prepared and ready to receive a jack.

The sound of this delightful 712 is remarkable.   It is long sustaining, clean and clear.   If a Grand Concert rosewood and spruce non-cutaway aging acoustic is exactly what you need, this guitar will please you in myriad ways untold.
