Bourgeois (used, 2008) Vintage OM-SS (Short Scale)

This is an exemplary sounding, easy playing, utterly gorgeous instrument that, from a foot away, looks almost new. In this singular version, the scale length – i.e. the distance between the nut and the saddle, is shortened just slightly to 24.9” (the regular OM is 25.4”). Although for some players this difference is barely noticeable, for others we hear that there is a sense of less tension on the strings and the slight advantage of having the frets a teeny bit closer together making for easier chord reaches and solo string work.

I drew up something that he liked and started building, but found that I wasn't able, at the time, to make such a tight bend in the side! So I gave up and substituted the rounder version that I still use today."
